I believe our children deserve the very best education — one that challenges them, supports them, and prepares them for real opportunities.
As a parent and advocate for our community, I have seen the potential our students hold and the ways our system is falling short. Lowering standards and celebrating mediocrity has done more harm than good. Our children deserve better.
I’m committed to raising expectations, restoring transparency, and ensuring parents are true partners in education. With honesty, integrity, and a focus on results, I will work every day to put students and families first.
I was born in Paterson, New Jersey, as a first-generation American to Macedonian immigrant parents. Having attended both public and private schools, I understand firsthand how access to quality education shapes opportunity and long-term success.
My family’s history is grounded in perseverance and service. My grandfather was captured in Greece and held as a Prisoner of War before escaping and immigrating to the United States. His courage inspired me to enlist in the United States Army, where I learned the importance of discipline, accountability, and leadership; values that are essential in both education and community service.
I proudly served in the Infantry Division. During my service, I worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities, strengthening my ability to listen, problem-solve, and lead with respect. These experiences have prepared me to advocate for policies that support safe schools, high academic standards, and opportunities for every student.
After receiving an honorable discharge, I chose to make Florida my permanent home. In 2004, I married my wife, Niki, a Florida native and fellow Army veteran. As parents, we understand the challenges families face in today’s educational system. We are proud to have a son who is currently a senior in high school, and we recently welcomed a baby daughter, giving us both immediate and long-term perspectives on education; from preparing students for graduation to planning for the future of early learning.
Professionally, my career has centered on public service and leadership. As Director of Security and Guest Services at Rybovich Mega Yacht Marina, I developed strong organizational and communication skills while ensuring safe, well-managed operations. I later served as a rural postal carrier in Indian River County, reinforcing my commitment to reliability and community connection. Ultimately, I chose to leave the post office to pursue a career with the City of Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation Department so I could work more directly for our community families; helping maintain public spaces that support youth programs, family engagement, and overall quality of life.
I am running for School Board to bring a practical, service-driven perspective that prioritizes student safety, academic excellence, parental involvement, and responsible stewardship of resources. My goal is to help ensure our schools prepare children not only for graduation, but for meaningful careers, lifelong learning, and a strong future for our community.
